The following describes each of the configuration options under Add/Edit Rate.
Name – This is a description field which is used by the reporting module for display purposes. This name will NOT appear only any invoicing, it is used by the reporting module only.
Digit Match Pattern – This field specifies the leading match digits for rating destinations. It must be in E.164 format, eg: 1567 for US Ohio, or 01144 for UK. You may separate multiple patterns by delimiting them with a semicolon. These are NOT specified in a "regex" style format. These are matched via a longest string match search. The values "*" and "#", without the quotes, are also valid and match the corresponding keys on the telephone.
NOTE: Prepaid does NOT support multiple patterns for a single rate entry. There must be one one pattern per rate entry.
Price for connecting – This is the actual amount charged to the customer for connecting the call.
Billing Increment Seconds – This is the number of seconds that elapse between the rating engine placing a call as the next level of billing. For example, if 30 was placed here, then every 30 seconds of call duration, the fee would be placed in to the next interval of billing.
Seconds Included/Free – This is the number of seconds, upon connection, that the call isn’t rated for. This is typically used to allow the customer to have 6 free seconds, so that if the call was quickly disconnected, the customer would not be charged for the call.
Price per Minute – This is the amount of money the customer is charged per minute of connection. This amount is broken down by the rating engine, using the billing increments, to determine the actual amount billed to the customer for a number of billable durations the customer uses.
Rating Type – In-network, Local Calling, Regular, Default/Match All.
Call Direction – In-bound, Out-Bound, and Both. This determines the direction of ANI rate matching. ie: if the source ANI is used, the destination ANI, or both.
Price is per Call – This flag controls if the amount entered in Price Per Minute is actually the cost of this call. For example, this gives you the ability to bill a flat rate of $0.99 for a call placed to directory services (411.)
Example:
The customer is charged $1.99 for each call to 411 and 20 cents per minute to the UK.
