PREPAID Product Plugin

The following outlines the different options available with the PREPAID plug-in configuration.  Prepaid products have special rating table entry requirements, which are discussed in the Rate Table section.

NOTE: Prepaid products place a larger system load on Asterisk, as four channels are used for each concurrent call.  This fact should be considered when high volumes of calls are to be expected.

Prepaid Type: This defines the type of prepaid service offered. The available choices are: ANI Authentication, PIN Authentication, and SIP Authentication.  The differences between the options are described below.

PIN Authentication - This provides the standard calling card type service, where the customer may dial a number, enter a PIN, dial a telephone number, hear their balance for the call, and have the system connect the call.
ANI Authentication - This is similar to PIN Authentication except that the callers telephone number is used as the "PIN".
SIP Authentication - This is similar to the PIN Authentication except that an actual SIP device (Provisioned DID and SIP settings) are used as the authentication method.  This allows for prepaid telephone adaptors and devices.

Toll-free number send to user in e-mail confirmation after provisioning - Once a customer has purchased a prepaid product and the invoice has reconciled, the customer is notified by email with the PIN selected.  This telephone number is included in the e-mail notice, so that the customer has the prepaid product's access number.

Set auto expire pin after first use - If set to yes, then the prepaid service is automatically expired after the configurable number of days have passed.  This is typically employed by calling card companies to increase profits.
