E911 Module

Overview

 

The E911 module allows AgileVoice to interface to VoIP E911 providers.  It allows the customer to maintain address profiles that are associated with their VoIP telephone numbers.  A task runs periodically that pushes the customer address information to the PSAP database.  This allows the E911 personnel to pin-point the location of the VoIP telephone during an emergency, providing the customer has the proper address on file in AgileVoice.

 

Installation

 

Apply the latest patches for your system, then install the voip_e911 module which will automatically install the dependency modules.  After the module has been installed, the following two modules need to be upgraded in the Administration -> Setup -> Modules -> Upgrade area: voip and voip_did.

 

Configuration

 

1.You must select the E911 provider plug-in to use.  In the Administration -> VoIP -> VoIP Configuration, select the E911 plugin applicable to your company.
2.Open the plug-in file in plugins/e911 and configure your username and password assigned by your E911 provider.
3.E911 is enabled on a product level.  In the Product Plugin Configuration screen, you will find a option “Uses E911 Add-on Module”, this must be set to “Yes” for the customer to be able to associate address profiles with a product.
